Housing 21


Clifford Gardens is owned by Housing 21, which was formally known as The Royal British Legion Housing.

The Association was founded in 1964 and has since specialised in the management of sheltered housing for rent for people with housing need.

No military service connections are necessary to be considered for housing.

Housing 21 is a Housing Association which are monitored and regulated by the Housing Corporation.

As a member of the National Federation of Housing Associations, they subscribe to and promote good standards of housing management and comply with the Tenants Guarantee and Tenants Charter.

The scheme was opened in July 1973 and comprises of 38 flat’s, 18 double and and 20 single, there are two car parks with spaces for 14 cars.

We are approximately 8 miles from the city of Exeter which is within easy reach by a bus service that runs every 15 minutes.

The local railway station (15 minutes away) serves stations between Exeter and Barnstaple

Crediton Transport also run a local bus service which stops at the scheme for trips to the local cottage hospital and supermarkets.

There is a communal lounge with kitchen facilities for Residents use. It is used for various social activities organised by the Residents and Court Manager, including coffee mornings, darts, scrabble, bingo and keep fit.

We also have fish & chip suppers, musical evenings, shopping trips and theatre trips.
